Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team and work alongside our existing Quantity Surveyor. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the success of our projects and contribute to our dynamic and collaborative work environment.
The Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control and financial management for our modular construction projects. Working closely with accounts and project teams, you will ensure our projects are delivered on budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Management:
• Prepare and manage budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecasts for projects.
• Ensure accurate cost reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor project expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities. - Contract Management:
• Manage contract administration, including procurement and tendering processes.
• Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements and valuations.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and identify any risks or variations.
- Valuations and Payments:
• Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
• Certify subcontractor payments and resolve any disputes. - Collaboration and Reporting:
• Work closely with project teams to understand project requirements and deliver cost-effective solutions.
• Provide regular cost and financial performance updates to senior management.
• Assist in project planning and value engineering exercises.
About You:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in quantity surveying and construction. You will need:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within modular construction or related industries.
- Strong understanding of NEC and JCT contracts, procurement, and cost management principles.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of UK construction standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in relevant software, such as MS Excel and estimating tools.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Membership with RICS or similar professional body (desirable but not essential).

Junior SHEQ Officer
Location: Mirfield, West Yorkshire (Head Office with occasional site visits)
Salary: Between £22k and 28k, depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, Permanent. (commencing June 2025)
Are you passionate about health & safety, quality, and sustainability in the construction industry? Do you want to be part of a growing modular construction business that’s transforming the way buildings are designed and built?
We are looking for a Junior Assistant SHEQ Officer to support and enforce Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) compliance across our factory, head office, and project sites. This role is primarily based at our head office, with occasional site visits to support inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Health & Safety Compliance
- Assist in implementing and maintaining health & safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work in a modular construction factory and site environment.
- Support the Continuous Improvement Team (CIT) with risk assessments (RAMS), method statements, and COSHH documentation.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections within the factory, yard, and office, ensuring hazards are identified and corrective actions are taken.
- Work with the Assistant Factory Manager to coordinate safety training sessions and toolbox talks (e.g., manual handling, first aid, fire safety) to upskill teams.
- Assist in maintaining health & safety records, including accidents, near misses, and training logs, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Promote a positive safety culture, reinforcing adherence to PPE requirements, fire safety, and ladder/trestle inspections.
- Perform weekly health & safety checks, including fire alarm tests and harness inspections.
- Ensure PPE records are completed for all new staff during inductions.
- Keep staff training records up to date, arranging courses as required to maintain compliance.
🔹 Environmental & Sustainability Responsibilities
- Support the Net Zero Design Associate in driving sustainability initiatives, including waste management, recycling, and carbon reduction in our modular construction processes.
- Monitor environmental compliance within the factory and yard, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Track and report on the company’s environmental footprint, including carbon emissions from factory operations, and assist with the annual Carbon Reduction Plan.
What We’re Looking For
✅ A strong interest in Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards in a construction/manufacturing environment.
✅ A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with excellent organisational skills.
✅ Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
✅ An interest in modular construction, offsite manufacturing, and sustainability.
✅ Any Health & Safety training or qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH) are desirable but not essential—training will be provided for the right candidate!
