Our project manager worked directly with the Client team at Harlow to develop a detailed program of works, taking into consideration every stage of the project and daily activities on site. This involved working with the Trusts AP’s to develop a safe method of isolation to enable the works to commence.

Our Mechanical and electrical teams then worked together with Actiform as a single team to deliver the project.

Design

Meetings were set up between our in-house Design Team and the M&E Design teams in order to be clear on the expectations required from each party and confirm the understanding of the client requirements.

The Mechanical and Electrical designs were produced by our contractors and approved by Actiform prior to being submitted to the client for comment and sign off.

Any requested derogations from HTM were clearly outlined and recorded. Once agreed, we overlayed the M&E designs onto our existing CAD drawing and checked for any clashes. Once approved by the Technical Design Manager, the design was submitted to the Client for approval.

The Works

During the installation process our Site and Project manager quality checked the installations of both M&E contractors, ensuring that the standards we expect were being achieved. Photographic evidence of mechanical and electrical services including containment and fire stopping were collated throughout the project.

Upon commissioning all documentation including “as built” were delivered along with the Bolster report for fire stopping.

Working closely with estates and clinical leads, Actiform supported the design development for the transformation of our clinical emergency care services for the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow. This involved a complete design and build modular construction to complement the creation of a state-of-the-art emergency care service.

Actiform helped us to embrace the opportunities presented by a new modular build clinical space with appropriate technology to create and support a new model of service that responds to changing clinical needs, meets the trust’s corporate objectives, and complies with sector building performance targets that we will need to meet.

The Actiform team mapped out the route to move away from the traditional siloed traditional structures, facilitating the opportunity to adopt a more flexible and adaptable approach to support services that will be complimented by technology, and support our digital clinical strategy development.

The Actiform project team worked ‘hand in hand’ with their design team to create a future focused build that rethinks the way a NHS trust delivers modular construction within a conventional ageing and varied built environment, and that is integrated into the core operation of the hospital. The completed build environment was an integral part of the overall strategy for the new emergency care services.

Having used Actiform to supply a large compound set up on a Smart Motorway project, the service received was second to none. Back in the autumn of 2015 we had a requirement to procure offices and welfare facilities of 3,000m2 plus over 3 floors for our Tideway-East project in Bermondsey, London.

We went out to tender and Actiform provided a construction package that we eventually purchased.
