Welcome Nwakaego: Driving Actiform’s Green Future!
Here at Actiform Ltd, we are proud to announce our new Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the esteemed University of Huddersfield, which has a great reputation for producing high-quality research having immense impact.
As part of this Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), we’re very excited to welcome to the team Nwakaego Onyenokporo. Nwakaego is our new KTP Net-Zero Design Associate and has over 4 years of experience in architecture and research. Her research focuses on the use of innovative and sustainable construction materials to reduce the negative impact of the industry on the environment.
Dr in the house; Nwakaego recently graduated from De Montfort University in Leicester with a PhD in Sustainable Building Materials. Her groundbreaking thesis, ‘Exploring Rice Husk Ash as a Supplementary Cementitious Material and its Impact on Building Energy Performance,’ showcases her dedication to advancing sustainable construction practices.
In the UK, buildings and infrastructure account for 25% of GHG emissions and up to 42% with the inclusion of transport emissions. With increasing urbanisation and reliance on the finite natural resources, this value will rise, especially as embodied carbon is predicted to account for up to 50% of total carbon emissions by 2025.
It is therefore our goal at Actiform Ltd, being on the the largest manufacturers of off-site engineered buildings in the UK, to embed Net-Zero design and practice within our company. This will enable us to achieve the UK Green Building Council’s target of Net Zero carbon emissions for buildings and infrastructure by 2050. We are also striving to have significant reductions by 2030.
Together with the University of Huddersfield, we will lead Actiform Ltd to a greener future.
Stay tuned for more exciting collaborations and projects at Actiform Ltd.
